On moving to the woods
On moving to the woods
At the end of each December, the three of us who run The Creative Independent (myself, Brandon, and Cole) reflect on the past year through the lens of the vast TCI Archive. At the end of 2017, I wrote about the manifestation of new creative spaces, and at the end of 2018, I wrote about what it means to collaborate with the universe. At the end of 2019, a year and a half after relocating from Brooklyn to the wilds of NY's Catskill Mountains, I wrote a short reflection on the experience of moving to the woods. It also includes insights from past TCI interviewees regarding what it means to romanticize a calmer existence outside of the city, and how wilderness can take shape both externally and internally, within the depths of our creative minds.
